Context

An XR solutions was needed for industry sales use-case.

Requirement

Required was a mobile native solution for sales agents to configure industrial equipment on-site using AR .

Taking the ownership of the project, I was tasked to conduct domain specific research, conceptualize the end-to-end user journeys, design user interactions and collaborate with the art and development teams to ensure timely the project execution.

Solution

Configure-to-order Industrial systems are engineered with configurable specifications that are generally opaque to non SMEs A preliminary research provided understanding of available configurations.

Operating tablet while using AR in active industrial environments presented clear hazard avoidance challenges. To overcome such challenges, user interactions and interface that prevent user harm were considered.

A 3D prototype helped immensely in enhanced communicating technical spatial designs and guidelines, which reduced design handoff time.

Leveraging the product understanding conducted enabled translation of complex technicalities int actionable tasks for the 3D art and development team.

Outcome

Successfully translating complex, deeply technical brief into a high-value immersive product, the project resulted in a functional hi-performance application.
